October 10-12 2011
FIRST DAY.
In the first class we cover foot work, which is necessary for an easy displacement on the floor. The subjects were, Syncopation, Zapateos (tap dancing), Cadencias (cadences), Rebotes (bouncing step) and Cruces (crosses).
In the second class we briefly talked about "embrace" and how to properly walk, stretching the legs, grounding and finishing the step. We also walk in line in parallel and crossed system, and finally, men walking on both sides or the follower.
SECOND DAY.
During the third class it was taught the Left Basic Eight Count and some variations, such as La Baldosa (the "tile" or six count), La Baldosa Reducida ( reduced tile or four counts).
In the fourth class, we applied changes of rhythm, using all the elements already taught before. Among these, we explained the differences between "tango", "milonga" and "vals", which are different dances, although we can use most of the same elements already taught.
THIRD DAY.
In the fifth class, we work on two easy turns: "inside turn" from the walk, and "turn with caminada (walk) around the follower. We also did some "simple turns' from the walk starting with the leader doing an "enrosque" (hook step), and doing short steps using one of the leader's foot as an axis.
In the last class, we worked in "flow and musicality" using one song and combining two successives steps during one measure.
